Hello, my friends! I just wanted to do a quick fabric haul via the blog today. Originally, I had planned out a video, and recorded it on Sunday, but decided to wait on the video for one of the next few posts I have planned. This is my first fabric haul, and was quite excited to receive my package. By-the-way, if you are curious enough after reading through, and would like to visit the site and purchase, I would appreciate it if you could use my referral code by clicking on Girl Charlee (new customers save 10%!).
Regarding the experience with Girl Charlee, I thought it was great. I ended up using the 10% coupon they offer for new customers, and I thought that the prices were very reasonable. Compared to what I find at Joann’s or other fabric stores, the prices offered on Girl Charlee were very affordable. I do like that they have a large selection of knits and of all kinds. I visited their site specifically for a cotton spandex mix, which I planned to buy so that I could make the Nettie dress that I have a pattern for. One thing that I am impressed by is how much the pictures look like what I received. The colors are pretty spot on. Perhaps that is just my computer, but I thought that it looked the same.
Original Feathers on Silver Peony Cotton Jersey Blend Knit Fabric – I really liked this design and thought it was very pretty. I plan to make an off-the-shoulder with straps, with this fabric. This fabric is not as soft as the other cotton spandex blends have been, but it will do.
Persian Pink Solid Cotton Spandex Knit Fabric – I really liked this pink and have plans to make a pencil skirt with this fabric. I envision it with a black top or sweater, depending on the time of the year, and black shoes. I bought this because I like a pop of color here and there, and I don’t really care weather the season calls for it or not. You can make it work.
Navy Blue Solid Cotton Spandex Knit Fabric – I bought this navy blue because lately, I have been wanting to add more navy blue in my closet. I am also working on a pattern and need to test it out with some fabric, so I thought I would try this color.
Green Brown Camo Cotton Spandex Knit Fabric – Ok, so I have always loved camo print. When I was in high school I remember buying a camo print skirt that I used to wear with a black top and my black wedges. Now a days, I have a pair of camo shorts, but if I could I would also have a pair of skinnies in this print to wear with boots and a black top. For this fabric, I plan to make a body con dress.
Bright Abstract Floral Cotton Spandex Knit Fabric – My plan with this is to make a skirt. I really like this fabric too. It was soft and I love the print.
Black Solid Cotton Spandex Knit Fabric – I am going to be working on making a Nettie dress soon, which is a popular sewing pattern. I don’t know why I am just now getting around to making it, but I feel the need to make one in black. Hopefully, it will be my go to little black dress.
Retro Linear Palm Leaf Cotton Spandex Blend Knit Fabric – This fabric was by far my favorite. This is a jersey knit and it felt soooo good. It was super soft, and I am sorry but I can’t help but love the print. It is very pretty. I plan to make a 3/4 sleeve top with this that I can wear with black skinnies or a black skirt.
Overall, I had a great experience with Girl Charlee, and recommend that you check them out. That is all for now, but I have had my eye on a few fabrics on fabric.com, so I may be back soon with another fabric haul. ;)
